Today (1 Aug. 2025) I\u2019m changing the title of a page that has been strangely visited since its creation, even though I never really communicated about the project; perhaps a certain word \u00ab\u00a0R**e\u00a0\u00bb drew attention out of curiosity, but this was never meant to be a clickbait project: I wanted to denounce the violence inflicted on pink dolphins, those magnificent creatures turned into merchandise or fantasy, in the midst of general indifference.<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n

Dolphins have long played a role in human culture. Dolphins are common in Greek mythology, and many coins from ancient Greece have been found which feature a man, a boy or a deity riding on the back of a dolphin. Four countries \u2013 Chile, Costa Rica, Hungary, and India \u2013 have declared dolphins to be \u00ab\u00a0non-human persons\u00a0\u00bb and have banned the capture and import of live dolphins for entertainment. Of the five freshwater species of dolphins in the world, the pink Amazon River dolphin, Inia geoffrensis, or \u00ab\u00a0bufeo colorado\u201d as they are known in Peru and \u201cbotos\u00a0\u00bb as they known in in Brazil, are considered to be the most intelligent. Dolphins appear to have a darker side, according to scientists who suggest they can resort to rape to assert authority. So here is the revenge, spreading on street walls.<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n
